ROTEC Workshop Silvretta Arena: Teamwork, strategy and cable car innovations.
As in every year, ROTEC started 2026 with what has now become a fixed part of our calendar: the annual ROTEC Workshop.
This time our journey took us to the Silvretta Arena Montafon, one of the most famous winter sports regions in the Alps, for several days.
We rented a holiday home for the entire team. There, we not only looked back on the past year, but also developed clear strategies and new ideas for the future of ROTEC.
Although some colleagues were unfortunately unable to attend due to illness, the workshop was a complete success.
This time together was a real highlight, especially for our new employee.
Growing team and clear perspectives
Last year alone, our team grew by three more specialists. We were also able to welcome new colleagues at the beginning of 2026.
At the same time, we are still looking for dedicated reinforcements for various areas.
That’s precisely why the workshop was an important moment to integrate new team members, share knowledge and define common goals.
Team building between workshops and ski slopes
In addition to intensive workshops, team building was also an important part of the program. Cooking together, having conversations outside the agenda, and of course skiing all helped strengthen team cohesion.
The Silvretta Arena offered perfect conditions for this. Between kilometers of slopes and cozy evenings, exactly the kind of exchange took place that is crucial for a strong team.
Cable car highlights in the Silvretta Arena
A particular highlight was the behind-the-scenes look at modern cable car technology. CEO Martin Oberhammer, together with Andreas Natter from the manufacturer Doppelmayr, guided us through the new Valisera cable car.
The 10-person gondola lift, built in 2021, is considered a true innovation highlight. It was the world’s first gondola lift with the AURO system (Autonomous Ropeway Operation).
Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, camera surveillance, sensors, and AI support, the station can be completely staffed without personnel. At the same time, the system significantly increases the safety and efficiency of plant operations.
Second AURO cable car directly in the ski area
Right in the same ski resort we were able to see another example of this technology: the Panoramabahn 8-seater chairlift, also equipped with the AURO system.
The direct comparison impressively demonstrated how autonomous cable car operation already works reliably today and what potential this technology offers for the future of the industry.
Conclusion: Exchange, innovation and team spirit
The ROTEC workshop at Silvretta Arena ideally combined strategy, team building, and cable car innovation. The days spent together not only provided valuable professional insights but also strengthened team cohesion.
With new ideas, clear goals and renewed motivation, we are now starting the year 2026 together.
ROTEC – we make ropes safe.
