Annual conference of the German Cable Car Association – exchange, innovation and expertise.

At this year’s annual meeting of the German Cable Car Association (Verband Deutscher Seilbahnen e.V.), ROTEC was once again represented as an expert body. Sebastian and Dirk attended the event and exchanged views with representatives of the cable car industry on current developments, safety standards, and technical innovations.

As every year, the event provided an ideal platform to gain new inspiration and maintain direct contact with operators and professional colleagues.

The focus was on specialist knowledge, networking, and practical insights into cable car operations.

Exciting lectures and workshops

In addition to the internal members’ meeting, workshops with interesting expert presentations also took place. A particular highlight was the so-called “speed pitches”.

Three companies presented themselves here with innovative products and showcased solutions that are intended to make cable car technology even safer and more efficient in the future.

Visit to the Silver Mountain and Alpine Coaster

Another item on the program was a visit to the Silberberg cable car and the mine at Silberberg, as well as the Silberberg Coaster, which opened this year. These facilities exemplify the successful blend of tradition, technology, and tourism. The alpine coaster not only provided excitement but also offered fascinating insights into modern safety concepts.

The Silberberg Coaster was put into operation this year. ROTEC was involved in the acceptance process and ensured that all technical requirements and testing specifications were met.

Excursion to the Great Arber

Another item on the program took the participants to the Großer Arber ski area in the Bavarian Forest. During an excursion, they gained fascinating insights into the technical facilities of the Arber mountain railway. These included the modern snowmaking system, the snow groomer garage, the newly opened bike park, and the hydroelectric power plant.

This visit impressively demonstrated how diverse and sustainable cable car technology is implemented today and how closely tourism, technology and environmental protection can be interconnected.

Abschluss mit Branchenaustausch

The annual conference concluded with a celebratory evening event, where the participants were able to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.

The discussions demonstrated once again how important personal contact and professional dialogue are in a technically demanding industry like cable car technology.

ROTEC draws a positive conclusion: The annual meeting of the Association of German Cable Car Operators offers valuable insights, new contacts and impulses for future developments in the field of cable testing and safety every year.

ROTEC – we make ropes safe.
