Welcome to the team, Pete!
Since July 1st, Pete has been strengthening our development team as a software engineer specializing in frontend development.
With a degree in Software Engineering and Media Informatics from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and a great deal of enthusiasm for modern software development, he is a perfect fit for ROTEC.
Smart Software
At ROTEC, Pete develops and improves our software solutions and user interfaces.
In doing so, he works with modern frontend technologies—among other things—analyzes technical challenges, and ensures that our applications function reliably and intuitively.
He finds the connection between modern software development and our technical products particularly exciting.
For here, software supports real-world measurement and testing processes and creates genuine added value for our customers.
Problem solver with a knack for detective work
Pete describes himself as analytical, structured, and curious. For him, troubleshooting doesn’t end with “it’s working again,” but only when he also understands why the error occurred in the first place.
“When something isn’t working, I don’t just want to fix the error. I also want to find out why it happened—even if that means I occasionally have to argue with my computer.”
It is precisely this approach that makes him a real asset to our development team.
Between Beats and Browsers
Before joining ROTEC, Pete worked as a math tutor and continues to work as a freelance DJ. Whether for birthdays, clubs, or events, he is just as responsible for the right beat as he is today for a clean user interface.
Fittingly, he says with a wink:
“As a DJ, I ensure the right transitions outside the office—at ROTEC, I make sure the transitions between frontend, backend, and user run smoothly, too.”
Creativity and technology play a major role in his private life, too. Pete writes his own songs, creates remixes and mashups, plays the piano, enjoys cooking and swimming, plays American football with friends, or spends relaxing evenings gaming.
Commitment that connects
Even during his studies, Pete was active in various university committees and took on responsibilities within the student representative body.
In addition, he provided voluntary mathematics tutoring and assisted with the 2022 census.
For him, teamwork, clear communication, and a sense of responsibility are a natural part of the job—values that are also highly prioritized at ROTEC.
Arrived at ROTEC
What Pete particularly appreciates about ROTEC is the family-like work environment, the varied tasks, and the opportunity to constantly learn new things. It was precisely this combination that won him over.
