Inspection of the Cable Car “BUGA Mannheim 2023”

17. February 2023 | Cable cars, New Construction Inspection, Rope, ROTEC GmbH

Last week, the employees of ROTEC had the pleasure of enjoying the beautiful sunshine.

For the Federal Garden Show 2023 in Mannheim, the company Doppelmayr from Wolfurt (Austria) built a state-of-the-art cable car. The D-Line system, featuring 64 ten-person cabins, is designed to transport visitors between the two stations, Luisenpark and Spinelli Grounds, at an impressive height. The ride along the 2.1-kilometer route takes only about 7 minutes, thanks to a travel speed of 6.5 m/s (23.4 km/h), during which passengers can enjoy the view of Mannheim from approximately 50 meters above the ground.

ROTEC GmbH was commissioned with the design and acceptance inspection of the system. This includes, among other things:

  • Structural inspection
  • Inspection of the mechanical components
  • Inspection of the electronic components
  • Magnetic inspection of the conveyor rope

We wish the BUGA Mannheim great success and always a safe ride!
