Customer visits with our ROPESYS rope testing device.

Last week, our ROTEC employee Dr. Martin Wehr traveled to Japan and Hong Kong to visit customers on-site. He presented the innovative ROPESYS rope testing system and trained new customers on how to use the easy-to-use device.

This meant that customers not only gained valuable knowledge but were also able to apply it immediately.

Efficient training of new customers

During the visits, the focus was on providing users with comprehensive training on magnetic rope testing with the ROPESYS system. This enabled them to fully understand the functionality and use it immediately. Furthermore, many questions were answered directly.

Customers benefit from the high measurement accuracy and ease of use. Furthermore, customized solutions for specific requirements have been found. This has resulted in numerous advantages that are important for both operators and passengers.

Only regular and reliable rope testing ensures long-term safety.

Peak Tram in Hong Kong relies on ROPESYS

A special highlight of the trip was a visit to Hong Kong’s famous Peak Tram. This historic funicular railway has connected Garden Road in downtown Hong Kong with the spectacular viewing point on Victoria Peak since 1888.

As one of the city’s main attractions, this tram underwent a comprehensive modernization in 2022. As a result, it now carries up to 4,000,000 passengers annually. Two 50.5 mm thick traction cables ensure safe operation.

These ropes will now be regularly monitored using the ROPESYS R58 rope inspection system. Only consistent monitoring can ensure that even the smallest defects are detected early.

Furthermore, comprehensive documentation ensures maximum transparency. This ensures the highest safety standards while also increasing the efficiency of rope testing.

Therefore, more and more operators are relying on modern testing systems to ensure the highest level of safety for both their facilities and their passengers.

Security and innovation in use worldwide:

Both Japan and Hong Kong demonstrated the importance of reliable rope testing for the safe operation of cable cars. By relying on state-of-the-art rope testing systems, companies can ensure compliance with all safety standards.

The ROPESYS system impresses not only with its high accuracy but also with its ease of use. This is why more and more companies around the world are relying on this proven technology.

Furthermore, it has been repeatedly shown that regular inspections are crucial for trouble-free operation. Only through ongoing testing can problems be identified and resolved early.

Through personal exchange on site, valuable insights were gained and existing customer relationships were strengthened.
