Zipline Stoderzinken: New ROPESYS R28 cable inspection device for cable testing in the Alps.<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Stoderzinken Zipline is one of the most spectacular recreational attractions in the Styrian Alps. Anyone soaring over the Styrian Alps on a steel cable at speeds of up to 115 km\/h enjoys, above all, a pure adrenaline rush.<\/p>\n

To ensure this exceptional leisure experience remains consistently carefree, the experienced operations team takes diligent care of technical maintenance.<\/p>\n

With a total length of 2.5 kilometers across two sections,<\/span> the Stoderzinken Zipline<\/a> in Gr\u00f6bming, Styria, is considered Europe’s largest zipline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rope inspection at the Stoderzinken zipline<\/span><\/h3>\n

To reliably inspect the system’s total of eight track ropes,<\/span> those responsible on site recently acquired a new rope testing device.<\/a><\/p>\n

Four parallel cables run along each of the two sections and must be inspected regularly.<\/p>\n

Consequently, a brand-new ROPESYS R28 <\/a>rope testing device <\/a>has been added to the equipment at Stoderzinken<\/span>, effective immediately. The device enables the magnetic-inductive inspection<\/a> of wire ropes directly on the installation.<\/p>\n

This allows wire breaks and other structural changes in the rope to be detected precisely and in a verifiable manner.<\/p>\n

For us, personal training is part of the package.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Although our ROPESYS systems<\/a> are simple and intuitive to operate, we generally include personal instruction <\/a>as part of the process. After all, rope inspection<\/a> is about more than just the technology.<\/p>\n

It is equally important that users can operate the device safely and correctly<\/span> evaluate the measurement data <\/span><\/span>obtained.<\/p>\n

For this reason, our expert Dr. Martin Wehr traveled to Austria to instruct the operating personnel on the handling of the new R28 directly at the facility.<\/p>\n

Hands-on instruction directly on the steel cable<\/span><\/h3>\n

The joint session focused primarily on practical application. Dr. Martin Wehr <\/a>explained the correct installation of the compact testing device directly onto the cable<\/span> to the employees, step by step.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the team practiced using the R28 rope testing device<\/a> and systematically analyzing the recorded measurement data.<\/p>\n

This allowed the employees to get to know the new testing device<\/span> directly under the conditions in which they will be using it in the future.<\/p>\n

Questions can be clarified directly at the system\u2014exactly where it matters most later on.<\/p>\n
