Bursa Teleferik: Cable inspection on a world record-holder.<\/span><\/h2>\n

An 8.8-kilometer cable car line, an elevation gain of around 1,400 meters, and 45 towers: the Bursa Teleferik<\/a> in Turkey is no ordinary cable car system. Built by the manufacturer LEITNER,<\/a> the line connects the major city of Bursa <\/a>with Mount Uluda\u011f<\/a> and holds the record for the longest single-cable gondola lift in the world.<\/p>\n

ast week, Dr. Martin Wehr\u2019s<\/a> path led him to precisely that location\u2014with a ROPESYS R58<\/a> in tow.<\/p>\n

Training on the world’s longest monocable circulating ropeway<\/span><\/h3>\n

For years, the Bursa Teleferik has been a key part of the connection between Bursa <\/span>and the popular recreation and ski area of \u200b\u200bUluda\u011f.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Along the route, which is just under nine kilometers long, numerous cable car towers<\/span> and significant changes in elevation must be overcome.<\/p>\n

Regular rope inspection<\/a>is crucial for the safe operation of such a system. During his visit, Dr. Martin Wehr<\/a> trained the staff at Bursa Teleferik<\/span> on the use of the ROPESYS R58<\/span>.<\/p>\n

It was not just a matter of operating the rope testing device<\/span>, but above all of the practical application of magnetic-inductive rope testing<\/a> directly on the installation.<\/p>\n

ROPESYS R58 in practical use<\/span><\/h3>\n

The ROPESYS R58<\/a><\/span> is designed for the magnetic-inductive testing of wire ropes. The rope testing device<\/span> detects changes in the rope, thereby revealing damage that cannot be reliably identified through visual inspection alone.<\/p>\n

For a system like the Bursa Teleferik,<\/span> a reliable assessment of the cable condition is crucial. The long route and daily operation place specific demands on technical monitoring.<\/p>\n

International deployments of ROPESYS rope testing equipment<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Bursa Teleferik rope inspection is another example of the international application of ROPESYS rope inspection technology.<\/p>\n

Whether for cable cars, cranes, or industrial plants, wire ropes are safety-critical components in many sectors and require reliable monitoring.<\/p>\n

And the next world record was not long in coming: that same week, Dr. Martin Wehr made his way to the Hambach open-cast mine.<\/p>\n

There, the ROPESYS R83 rope testing device was used on the four 75-millimeter-thick hoist ropes of Excavator 293\u2014the largest and heaviest land vehicle in the world.<\/p>\n
