At the same time, the splice requires regular inspection and maintenance, as it is a particularly sensitive section of the rope loop.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Special requirements for the Wankbahn<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In more specialized cable car systems, such as the Wankbahn in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the detachable clamps of the cabins do not allow coupling in the splice area, which is why this must be technically prevented during operation.<\/p>\n<p>The Wankbahn is a fully automatic single-cable gondola lift with gravity clamps of the Swiss Giovanola system, opened by PWH (Pohlig-Weser-H\u00fctte) in 1981.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #808080;\">ROPESYS splice finder: Function and advantages<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The splice finder uses magnets to detect whether a splice is present in the station.
